 "Il Nido"–"The Nest"–is a romantic hideaway, with vaulted brick ceilings, tucked underneath "Il Cielo", and perfect for two people who have come for their honeymoon or to live their Tuscan dream together, or for someone who wants a retreat getaway. Il Nido is extremely quiet and private! Il Nido has a décor that is cozy and romantic. It was built in 1891 and has been entirely restored, maintaining its original features. The furnishings are Tuscan antiques. This house has trompe l'oeil on the walls and ceilings, making it a very quaint accommodation. The entry is at street level. Once inside, you descend a few steps and reach the courtyard garden level, where you will find a place to make your vacation nest! Il Nido’s kitchen is large and homey, and includes a dining table to enjoy the delicious tastes of Tuscany. The kitchen includes a stovetop, toaster, coffee makers, microwave, and refrigerator. You will find a full complement of dinnerware, flatware, water and wine glasses, decanter, cutlery, utensils, and pots and pans. Candles are provided for romantic meals. Everything you need is here! From the kitchen, you can step through the French door out to the courtyard garden, to smell the flowers, feel the cool of the morning or evening air, enjoy secret views to the surrounding countryside, and enjoy your own private place. In this beautiful outdoor space there are pots of fresh herbs, a table with two chairs, and a grill. It is perfect out here for finding peace and quiet, reading a good book, and enjoying a glass of wine. The bedroom has a romantic king-sized, four-poster bed. The bed has a high quality, orthopedic mattress, clothed with the finest of luxury linens and bedspread. Extra pillows are provided for your comfort. The bathroom is very large, complete with a hairdryer, roomy shower with unlimited hot water, and bidet. Fluffy, terrycloth towels await you for your total comfort. An iron, ironing board, and drying rack are available. A laundry service in the village is available upon request. Upon your arrival at Il Nido you will find a full breakfast basket intended for the first morning, and a sample of our olive oil and wine. Items that will be available during the whole stay include coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, tea, herbs, Tuscan liqueurs, Italian candies, body soap and lotions, shampoo, and much more. At Il Nido you will have a CD player with radio, TV (Italian stations only), playing cards, books to read (in English), and two mountain bikes to explore your surroundings (additional professional bikes can be rented). You will find a large, leather-bound, three-ring binder (Isa’s Big Book) chock-full of detailed information about the area, driving itineraries, bicycling itineraries, restaurant reviews and descriptions, spas and wellness centers, museums, festivals, art, and so much more. This book has been prepared by Isabella herself and is for your use while you stay with her at Le Casine! "Il Nido" has an independent heating system. This naturally cool, thick-stoned living space has no need for air conditioning. A dehumidifier keeps the air fresh and comfortable. For your comfort, the windows have screens to keep the mosquitoes outside while letting the Tuscan breeze flow inside. A room fan is available during the summer time. The total size of Il Nido is 325 square feet. The size of the private courtyard garden is 485 square feet.
