Artisanal Shops and Finely Handcrafted Items

The Italian sense of taste and style is famous for its simple elegance, fine design, uncompromising components and ingredients, and visual beauty. This area of Tuscany is a treasure trove for those looking for the finest in gastro-enological products and superbly hand-wrought items, such as pasta, cured meats, pecorino cheese, leather, ceramics, terracotta, copperware, wrought ironwork, and so much more. These items are produced by artisans, in their small workshops, in villages both large and small. Many of them produce their goods using traditional techniques, taking great pains to ensure excellence and beauty, function and design, and taste and value. We will be delighted to tell you about the local artisans and show you where to find them. These are purchases you will cherish for many years after your Tuscan dream vacation is just a memory.

    Markets

In the Big Book, which is in each apartment, you will find a comprehensive list of the weekly/monthly markets that happen in our region. Most towns have a weekly market where the residents buy a large amount of their food, clothing, housewares, garden supplies, and more. You will see authentic Tuscan life at our markets. These markets are full of everyday items--the things you buy at your local stores for your everyday life. But in Italy, the markets come to the people--usually on a weekly basis.
